Institute for Challenging Disorganization 2019 Conference, presenting “High-Functioning Clients Need Extra Help Too: Executive Functions and When to Refer”
When working with high-functioning clients, it can be a challenge knowing when you should refer your clients out for your psychological evaluations, therapy, or an evaluation for psychotropic medication. In this presentation, you will not only learn about executive function “dysfunction” from an expert, but you will also learn about the ethics and guidelines for determining when your client needs additional help, and how to best address this with your client without overstepping boundaries. You will also learn how high-functioning clients present when they are in need of additional help. This is especially pertinent when you have high-functioning clients with ADHD, anxiety, depression, an autism spectrum disorder, or a high IQ.
